Speaking at TEDxMedUniGraz has been a landmark in my professional life.
First of all, preparing for the talk has given me clarity on the research directions I want to pursue in the future. Secondly, the human connections I established or strengthened at the event have been of great value to me. Thirdly, I am happy to see not only online attention to my talk, but also a great deal of interest and engagement with my message back home.
One thing is sure: whether you join TEDxMedUniGraz as a speaker or a participant, you will be welcomed with professionalism and hospitality by the local team.

Most of us have no idea what the news is doing to our brains.
TEDxMedUniGraz gave me the chance to explore that question, bringing together neuroscience and journalism to help people make sense of their own news habits. The organisers were very supportive from the start, and it was inspiring to share the stage with so many brilliant speakers.
Some moments change the way you see your work, and stepping onto the TEDx stage was one of those moments for me.
HANNAH GELBART
TEDxMedUniGraz 2025
Delivering my first TEDx talk at Med Uni Graz was truly a turning point in my journey, one that was made even more special by the inspiration I drew from Karine Sargsyan, the organizer of the event. Her encouragement and vision pushed me to step on stage, and it was that moment that kickstarted my speaking career. After those two talks in Graz, Karine invited me to deliver my third TEDx talk in Armenia, expanding the reach of my ideas even further.
What I am most proud of, however, is how this experience paved the way for my son to take the stage himself. This year, at just 15 years old, he delivered his first TEDx talk, discussing one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time: how social media algorithms are targeting youth and what they can do to take back control. “One Fake Pill Can Be Game Over!" - his talk is a powerful reminder of the impact these platforms have on young minds.
In addition to my co-authored open-source book, 'Future Intelligence: The World in 2050', which aims to inspire governments, innovators, and businesses to build a better future, these experiences continue to fuel my belief in the power of ideas to change the world. I look forward to returning to the TEDx stage and watching future generations, like my son, take up the mantle and inspire the world to come together and create the future we deserve.

Although this was already my third TEDx talk, it remains a truly unique experience every single time. I give many talks throughout the year, but TEDx stands out – more performance than presentation, ideally with no slides or cue cards to hide behind.
Even as an experienced speaker, your heart rate spikes, and that adrenaline rush makes TEDx so intense, powerful and memorable.

As a TEDx Speaker, I had the chance to share my research on sexuality education and consent in a way that directly connected to what I experience in classrooms and workshops with young people.
Standing on that stage felt like inviting the audience into an honest, much needed conversation. Knowing that this conversation continues beyond the event is what makes the experience especially meaningful to me.

TEDxMedUniGraz was an amazing event and a truly special experience. It meant a lot to me to share my talk on the importance of science communication and to speak about something I deeply care about.
Having the opportunity to reach even a few people and hopefully make an impact showed how powerful platforms like this can be in bringing science closer to society.

There is a TEDx talk in every person! I am sure there is ONE thing you would like to tell hundreds or thousands of people.

CHRISTINE MOISSL-EICHINGER
TEDxMedUniGraz 2019
Speaking at TEDx MedUniGraz I kept in mind that the best talks are made to not be understood immediately, but to be unlocked.
Remember: a speaker’s words are only the cover – and the real message lives underneath awaiting the listener who has themself as much courage to question and interpret.
Once you stop taking every sentence literally, you will discover the meaning that wasn’t spoken directly but intentionally left between the lines. That is where the insight begins.

I'm a huge fan of TED, and even though I was actually on my way to another event the day of my TEDx talk, I was eager to take this opportunity to talk about my personal beliefs and ideas face to face.
Being on a TEDx stage is an awesome experience. Especially in my field, human body language, it is a great way to connect with the audience. To be honest: I prefer it over any online speech and coaching.

Giving my TEDx talk was a truly exciting and inspiring experience and a unique opportunity to share my passion for life sciences and drug discovery with a broad and diverse audience.
The TEDx format creates an exceptional platform to communicate cutting-edge research in a clear and accessible way, and to spark curiosity about how fundamental science can shape our understanding of health, disease, and ageing.
I am grateful for the thoughtful organization and the chance to contribute to a platform that connects science with society
